Vascular Development and Regeneration

Vascular networks are an integral component of every organ in the body, and play an important role in organ development and regeneration. The Gu lab investigates how the vascular system contributes to a wide range of diseases, including congenital heart defects, pulmonary vascular disease, neurodevelopmental disorder, and brain cancer. Current research focuses on the development of new blood vessels from existing structures or from patient-specific induced pluripotent stem cells, to define the organ-specific vascular signatures, and to model the disease phenotypes in a dish.
